01. The Challenge & Solution
Eight-year-old Finley has Lennox–Gastaut syndrome with refractory seizures, a PEG for nutrition and significant developmental delay. Previous agency turnover caused inconsistent care. Bondage Valley assigned a Core Complex-Care team of two paediatric nurses and one senior HCA, working a 2 + 1 rolling rota.

02. Working Process
Joint paediatric neurology hand-over at Belfast Children’s Hospital.
Seizure-response protocol revised: buccal midazolam threshold lowered; portable suction kept bedside.
Daily therapy blend – sensory OT, 30-minute physio stretches, switch-accessible games for cognition.
School liaison – nurses attend EHCP meetings; care notes uploaded to school portal each afternoon.
03. Perfect Result
Seizures halved (from 28 to 14 per month) within three months.
PEG-related infections: zero incidents, verified by community dietetic team.
Attendance at mainstream class improved to 88 %.
Parents reported 70 % drop in sleep disruption, tracked via wearable monitors.
